Now in its 28th year, the Women’s Conference brings together 300 women annually from Boyle Heights and the Eastside community to embrace a day dedicated to their health, wellness, and personal empowerment. The majority are low-income Latinas, who do so much for their families and community in the face of daily social and economic hardships.
The Only Event of its Kind!
The Women’s Conference is a day to celebrate their passion, drive, and commitment, and to take a day to focus on themselves. The conference is presented in
Spanish and free for all participants to attend.
Workshops
The workshops offered are designed to address the challenges that low-income women on the Eastside face, as well as provide the tools they need to create positive change. Past workshop topics include Mental Health and Stigma, Dealing with Grief, Financial Literacy, and Maintaining Movement.
Community Building
The conference begins with a keynote speaker during breakfast. Past keynote speakers include State Senator Maria Elena Durazo, Playwright Josefina Lopez, Attorney Antonia Hernández, and LA Superior Court Judge Maria Lucy Armendariz. After morning workshops, women come together for a healthy lunch and enjoy live music and dancing before afternoon workshops.
Impact
Year after year, women tell us how much they value the
conference, sharing that the workshop topics feel
thoughtfully planned just for them—relevant, useful, and meaningful. They leave the event with increased skills, renewed inspiration, and a stronger sense of
empowerment to make meaningful changes in their
lives. Most importantly, they build lasting support networks with fellow powerful women, creating connections that continue to inspire long after the conference ends.
